When to Remove Wallpaper
Many home buyers won’t put an offer on a house with wallpaper. Older style wallpaper makes the home look dated, while more modern style wallpaper may not match the buyer’s tastes or furniture. It’s often best to make the home look as neutral as possible so potential buyers can make their own personal interior touches.

Wallpaper removal is the cornerstone to TC Pro Wallpaper. Over the past 20 years, we have come across many different types of wallpaper. We have developed different techniques to take off the many kinds of wallpaper. Most of the time we remove wallpaper in conjunction with a large painting job. We will also remove the wallpaper by itself for those homeowners that like DIY, but don’t want the mess of dealing with wallpaper.
TC Pro Wallpaper does high quality work when it comes to interior painting. Interior painting work may include walls, ceiling, trim, and painting interior features. From setup to clean up and everything in between, we pay special attention to details to ensure a professional finish using high-end professional products.
Our skim coat process starts with sealing in any residual wallpaper paste with specially formulated primer. This ensures no discoloration works its way into the paint plus allows for a clean surface for plaster application. Next, we make the walls smooth and uniform by applying two layers of plaster and sanding it.
Not all wallpaper removal jobs need plaster skim coating. It adds more time, cost, and mess, but sometimes it is unavoidable. We find that approximately 5% of the jobs we complete need to add skim coating because of issues such as cheap wallpaper or improper preparation before installation. We give you the price up front, and only add to the job as needed.
Holes in walls happen from old unused systems or kids playing hockey in the house. We will patch the wall as part of the larger project as if nothing was ever there.
